One man was injured when he wrecked his motorcycle to avoid hitting a truck that pulled out in front of him near Lake Darling Saturday morning. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at 10:57 a.m. the motorcycle operated by Tobias Kaska of Brighton wrecked near Elm Avenue and Highway 78. It was determined that Kaska was westbound on Highway 78 and was approaching the intersection when a white, older model Ford pickup with large tires entered the roadway from the north pavement of Elm Avenue. Kaska activated both front and rear brakes and started to fishtail, he laid the motorcycle on its side to avoid a collision with the truck.

Kaska was taken by Washington County Ambulance to the Washington County Hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck.

The unknown truck did not stay at the accident scene and according to authorities it’s unknown if the driver of the truck observed the motorcycle. It is an on-going investigation.
