A box culvert extension project in Washington County has been approved after receiving one bid. At Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, a box culvert extension on Old White Way, east of Highway 218 was approved unanimously.

Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius said there was one bid. The project was awarded to Iowa Bridge and Culvert of Washington for $198,170, above the $185,000 estimate. Thorius said that area had seen a slide develop in the past. The work is set to be done yet this year.
