
Iowa’s corn and soybeans are two weeks ahead of last year and remain ahead of the five-year average. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, corn silking or beyond reached 95% and corn in the dough stage or beyond reached 44%. In southeast Iowa, 91% of corn is silking and 56% has reached the dough stage.
Statewide soybeans blooming reached 91% and 70% of the crop is setting pods. In southeast Iowa, 85% of soybeans are blooming and 66% are setting pods.
Corn is rated at 14% excellent, 59% good, and 21% fair. Soybeans are rated at 13% excellent, 60% good, and 21% fair.
