Representation was plentiful for the Highland softball squad on the all conference teams that was recently released by the Southeast Iowa Super Conference, as nine Huskies were recognized by the league.
Three players nabbed first team honors in Dani Laughlin, Abbi Stransky, and Sarah Burton. The freshman Laughlin was a dangerous bat at the top of the order leading the league in batting average with .600 and her 21 stolen bases also was at the top of the division. Stransky led the team in RBI with 16 as a freshman and Burton produced a .457 batting average in her eighth grade campaign.
Four players were named to the second team in Grace Batcheller, Jenna Sands, Kinze Hora, and Kayla Cerny. Batcheller had a 3.52 ERA in 63 innings in the circle, Sands batted .333, Hora managed a .357 on base percentage, and Cerny brought in eighth runs.
Honorable mention selections included Ali Brand and Jessica Kraus. Brand was the lone senior on the team and got on base 30% of the time while Kraus added depth in the circle with a 1.78 earned run average in 35 1/3 frames.
The Huskies finished the summer with a 9-7 record.
