Iowa’s annual sales tax holiday is this Friday and Saturday. The tax-free weekend applies to clothing and footwear, with some exceptions. No sales tax or local option sales tax will be collected on clothing or footwear that is less than $100. This does not include watches, jewelry, sporting equipment, skates, or any specialty clothing or footwear designed primarily for athletic activity or protective use. It is for items considered appropriate for everyday wear.
Businesses that are open on these days are required to participate. The tax-free holiday does not include Sunday.
