Nineteen COVID-19 deaths were recorded in Iowa over the weekend. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health as of Sunday, Iowa has had 931 COVID-19 deaths and 48,839 confirmed cases. Of those confirmed cases, 37,112 have recovered for a recovery rate of nearly 76%. In Washington County there have been 298 cases, 11 deaths, and 271 people have recovered.
The IDPH and Centers for Disease Control are encouraging people to continue to practice social distancing by staying six feet apart from people outside of your household, wear a mask in public to prevent the spread of the virus, and wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water.
