One person was arrested after a hit and run collision occurred on Highway 218 on Wednesday night. At 9:25 p.m. Rhonda Lintz of Kalona was driving northbound and attempted a left-hand turn crossing into the fast lane on Highway 218 when Micah Olson of Washington collided with the rear end of the 2011 Ford Escape. Olson’s 2008 Kia Optima rolled into the east ditch and was totaled as a result of the collision. The collision occurred on the intersection of Highway 218 and 160th Street, south of Riverside. Lintz approached Olson and said to not call police and proceeded to leave the scene of the accident. Iowa State Patrol officers found Lintz seven miles south of the accident on Highway 218 and arrested her on charges of operating while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and unsafe turn. Both individuals received minor injuries and both refused medical treatment.
