After a nearly three-month delday, the Toolesboro Historic Landmark Museum has officially reopened to the public with health and safety guidelines in place. During normal years, the museum opens on Memorial Day weekend, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic the museum remained closed until now. Groups and individuals are able to visit the museum Wednesday through Sunday from 12:30-4:30 p.m. until Labor Day. From Labor Day until October 31, the museum will only be open on Saturdays from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Staff will be wearing masks and will introduce extra cleaning and sanitizing practices to keep all visitors healthy. Patrons are recommended to wear a mask or face covering, sanitize their hands before entering the building, and follow the indicated signs within the museum. One group will be allowed in the museum at one time and other groups will be asked to wait outside until the other group has concluded their tour. The museum is located east of Wapello at 6568 Toolesboro Avenue. Questions can be directed toward the Louisa County Conservation office.
