A 20-year-old piece of equipment has been replaced by a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine at Washington County Hospital and Clinics. The new MRI allows staff to perform more tests per day with clear results, allowing providers to assess and diagnose patients more quickly and accurately. This MRI has a larger bore and shorter tunnel to increase patient comfort during their tests. The room the machine is in has also had a facelift and includes ceiling tiles to mimic outdoor scenery.
The project began in April and was funded in part by the WCH Foundation and the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. The project cost nearly $300,000.
