Washington County Hospital and Clinics has received a five-star rating, the highest level, from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for patient experience. WCHC is one of 266 hospitals to earn this rating.

CMS rated nearly 3,500 hospitals on a scale from one to five stars for patient experience during 2019. WCHC was among the top 8% to receive this rating, as most fell in the three- and four-star range.

The ratings are based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey which gives people an opportunity to evaluate a health system on over 50 performance measures. Areas that receive feedback include patient experience, safety, quality of care, and readmission rates. The surveys are sent to a random sample of patients up to six weeks after services are received.
