The Kalona Creamery is putting their best foot forward and accepting donated items for those in Cedar Rapids affected by the August 10 derecho. The company has teamed up with other Kalona businesses, such as Kalona Direct, Kalona SuperNatural, and the Farmer’s Creamery, to deliver their dairy products to families who lost food and resources during the powerful storm. Members of the community can donate any essential items for individuals and families devastated by the derecho by dropping them off at Kalona Creamery. Items needed the most include diapers, coolers, pre-made meals, batteries, paper towels, large trash bags, tents, sleeping bags, battery operated lanterns, and toiletries.
