Those going to and from Washington High School may have to take an alternate route for the next few days while work wraps up on South Avenue B. Washington’s Maintenance and Construction Superintendent JJ Bell tells KCII News that the road closure on South Avenue B from Van Buren to Harrison Street is expected to continue through Wednesday. Crews installed a new eight-inch water main and concrete replacement is taking place. People are asked to avoid that area until work is finished.

UPDATE 3 p.m. 8/24: The roadwork has been completed earlier than expected. As of 3 p.m. Monday South Avenue B is open for traffic.
