A Kalona woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 218 on Monday. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 30-year-old Alicia Carter of Kalona was traveling east from School Avenue in Olds onto Highway 218 when 28-year-old Trevor Veech of Lancaster, Wisconsin turned west onto School Avenue and struck her vehicle’s front fender. Carter’s 2004 Toyota Sienna spun around and ended up near the stop sign on the School Avenue and Highway 218 intersection. Veech’s 2020 Kenworth semi-truck ended up on it’s side in the west ditch of Highway 218. Carter was transported to the Henry County Health Center by ambulance. Veech was uninjured. Henry County Ambulance and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
