Athletics at Washington High School start up this week and the school district has released guidelines for spectators to follow this fall.

First and foremost, no spectator should attend if they show any signs of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis in the last 14 days. Fan capacity will vary and seats will be marked with blue tape showing where spectators are able to sit allowing for social distancing between non-family groups. For INDOOR EVENTS ALL FANS ARE REQUIRED to have a face covering at all times while attending the event at Washington Schools. For outdoor events fans are strongly recommended to wear face coverings at all times. Student sections will look the same, but students will be required to wear face coverings. Any fan disregarding these guidelines will be asked to leave the premises.

These guidelines may evolve as the fall goes on and are subject to change. The first varsity volleyball contest of the year is Thursday against Mid-Prairie, the football team hosts Bettendorf on Friday, and the cross country teams compete in Kalona next Tuesday.
