The hard work and dedication of a Fairfield athlete will be featured in a Netflix documentary set to release today. Rising Phoenix takes viewers back in time to the beginning of the Paralympic Games in 1960 and tells the triumphant stories of the athletes that make the games so special. Matt Stutzman, also known as The Armless Archer, describes his life without arms, being adopted at only four months of age, and overcoming life’s hurdles with constant encouragement from his adopted parents. He describes in the film how his life changed when he found archery, winning a silver medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, and his struggles during the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. The film releases today on Netflix and is rated PG-13.
