Recently, the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released their All-State teams for the 2020 season and three Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks earned honors in class 2A.

Mid-Prairie senior Brad Tornow was a second team all-state selection as a pitcher. Despite a season cut short by injury, he finished with a perfect 5-0 record and microscopic 0.91ERA. That number was eighth best in class 2A and his 43 strikeouts 10th best. That total of punchouts came in just 23 innings of work. His average of 1.8 strikeouts per inning was best in the state. He ends his pitching career at Mid-Prairie winning his last 12 decisions in a row, dating back to his sophomore season. He also hit .400 during his most recent season, seventh best in the RVC with 31 runs scored, third most in 2A and 17 RBI.

Mid-Prairie junior Aidan Rath was also a second team selection at first base. He led the Hawks, RVC and finished third in the state with a .562 average at the plate. His five home runs led the conference and were second most in Iowa and his 29 RBI were also an RVC best and second best in the state.

Golden Hawk junior catcher Vinnie Bowlin was a third team all-state pick. He hit .296 for the year with nine RBI and eight runs scored.

The Golden Hawks compiled a 12-3 regular season record including a share of their first overall River Valley Conference title since 2000. Mid-Prairie advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 2007 and finished with a 15-4 record.
