One driver is facing vehicular homicide charges following a fatal three-vehicle wreck that happened in Lee County earlier this month.
As previously reported on KCII News, according to the Iowa State Patrol at 5:29 p.m. August 4th, on Highway 2 a string of vehicles were stopped for a flagger at a construction zone. The first vehicle was a Mack straight truck driven by 57-year-old Robert Luke Jr. of Washington, followed by a Harley Davidson motorcycle with 67-year-old Michael Horn and 66-year-old Linda Horn of Donnellson on it. A Nissan Frontier driven by 54-year-old Chad Davis of Donnellson was eastbound on Highway 2 and failed to stop, striking the motorcycle and pushing it into the truck. Both Michael Horn and Linda Horn died at the wreck.
Davis was arrested in Donnellson on Wednesday without incident. He was charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, operating under the influence, failure to maintain control, driving while license suspended, and failure to file SR-22 insurance. Davis was taken to the Lee County Correctional Center.
