Each school district can set out their fan requirements in regards to COVID-19 safety measures. Washington High School Activities Director Brent Van Weelden is reminding Demon fans of those requirements and expectations for competitions happening this week. Cross country fans at Hillcrest Academy today (9/1) are required to wear face coverings. The Demon cross country team will then travel to Ottumwa on Thursday and spectators are asked to wear face coverings.

Mt. Pleasant will host the Washington volleyball team Thursday and they recommend spectators wear face coverings. The volleyball team will compete at Anamosa Saturday where all of those attending must wear a face mask.

On Friday the Demon football team will travel to Solon for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Solon is allowing Washington to bring 500 fans to the game. To stay within that number, each Washington player, coach, cheerleader, and manager will be given five vouchers. Those vouchers can then be redeemed at Solon’s north ticket booth at Spartan Stadium, which will allow the person to purchase a $5 ticket to the game. Spectators at Solon are required to wear face masks. KCII will be broadcasting live from Solon as the Demons take the field.
