The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team took another step forward with their program on Tuesday night. The Hawks went on the road and swept the Durant Wildcats in a River Valley Conference match by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-20. This is Mid-Prairie’s first regular season, best-of-five River Valley Conference win since September of 2015 when they beat Wilton three sets to two. It’s their first road best-of-five win in the RVC since October of that same year when they took out Monticello and it’s the first regular season sweep of a conference opponent since beating Wilton in 2014. Head coach Sherry Evans spoke this week about what the win means to her girls and the program. “This means a lot! It’s super exciting. I think one of our seniors said after the game ‘coach, I think this is one of our very first conference wins we have had in four years.’ That moment was huge for them. It was huge for their confidence building. It shows them, we are talented, we can do this. We served tough that night. We picked up a lot of balls. Maddie Edgington had a big night at libero.”

Landry Pacha led the way with 18 assists for Mid-Prairie. Tori Boyse finished with seven kills, Myah Lugar and Alyssa McDowell each had four. Maddie Edgington led the way with 15 digs. With the victory, the Golden Hawks are now 4-0 for the year.
