The Highland and Louisa-Muscatine volleyball teams met up in Riverside on Thursday for five hard fought sets with the Falcons coming out on top.
The Huskies took care of business with a 25-23 set one win and the Falcons answered with a 25-20 tally in the second. The back-and-forth trend continued with Highland taking the third 26-24, but the Falcons refused to be denied by dominating the fourth 25-10 and winning the fifth 15-8. Dani Laughlin and Carson Mellinger each had six kills for the Huskies and Laughlin recorded 16 assists. Mackinze Hora dug out seven balls and Grace Batcheller managed three aces.
Highland is now 2-4 and they travel to Mediapolis tomorrow.
