After triumphing over a 2019 playoff team in week one, the WACO football team couldn’t repeat history in week two, as they traveled down to New London and fell 50-10 on Friday.
Three first half touchdowns for the Tigers’ Blaise Porter put New London in control early with a 36-0 lead at half and they never looked back in the final two quarters. The Tigers tallied 260 yards on the ground and won the turnover battle three to one. The Warriors struggled to stay on the field by getting a first down on just one of 12 third down plays and recorded 162 yards total. Will Edeker had 16 carries for 52 yards and connected with Simeon Reichenbach from 10-yards out in the second half for their only touchdown of the game. Reichenbach also was successful on a 31-yard field goal attempt and led the defense with eight tackles.
The Warriors drop to 1-1 and gear up for their home opener on Friday against Lone Tree.
