The Washington volleyball team traveled to Anamosa on Saturday for a tournament and fell in three contests.
The Demons were swept by Northeast Goose Lake 21-11 and 21-12, Bellevue 21-14 and 21-11, and the host Blue Raiders 21-10 and 21-18. Keira Messinger led the defense on the day with 19 digs. Emma Nichols recorded seven assists and was successful on 15 of 18 serve attempts.
The Demons fall to 0-5 and look for their first win tonight at Fairfield. The Trojans are 2-1 with Anna Dunlap being their top offensive threat with 13 kills and Maddie Jones has 16 assists. The action gets underway at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Fairfield and spectators are required to wear masks.
