The Columbus Wildcat volleyball team goes west Tuesday when they travel to Packwood to meet the Pekin Panthers. Columbus comes into the match with an overall record of 5-5. In their last match they beat East Marshall in straight sets 21-19 and 21-16. For the year the Wildcats are led by Olivia Carrier with 39 kills, third in the Superconference North. Jobie Lekwa has the team lead and is third in the north with 57 assists and defensively, Emma Milder has a team high 69 digs, fourth in the Superconference North.
Pekin comes in with an overall record of 3-4. Last time out the Panthers were beaten three out of four by Winfield-Mt. Union. On the season, Pekin is led by Allison Bainbridge with 36 kills, fifth in the Superconference North. Bainbridge also leads the Panther defense with 34 digs. Erika Coleman is best for Pekin and eighth in the north with 35 assists. These two teams met on August 24th with the Wildcats taking a two of three win by scores of 21-11, 10-21 and 15-13. Action begins tonight at 7:30 at Pekin High School.
