columbus-logo3-2

The Columbus Community volleyball team was riding high after a successful weekend tournament where they placed second at English Valleys, but the Wildcats couldn’t keep the momentum into Tuesday where they fell to Pekin on the road in three sets.

The Panthers came out on top with scores of 25-12, 25-15, and a tight 28-26 set three victory. Olivia Carrier led the Wildcat offense with five kills, Jobie Lekwa had eight assists, and Sera Vela recorded three blocks. Emma Milder was doing all she could defensively with 16 digs and Victoria Howell was successful on 16 of 17 serves.

Columbus drops to 6-6 and they return to the court tonight hosting Wapello. The Arrows are 4-7 with Lindsy Massner being a player to look out for with 53 kills. The action gets underway at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
