The disaster proclamation for counties impacted by the August 10th derecho has been extended by Governor Kim Reynolds. The proclamation that includes Washington County allows state resources to be used to recover from the effects of the severe weather last month. The proclamation includes 27 counties, including Iowa, Johnson, and Washington Counties in the KCII-listening area.

Also under the proclamation, regulatory provisions pertaining to weight limits and hours of service for disaster repair crews and drivers delivering goods and services responding to the storm are temporarily suspended throughout the State of Iowa.
