Washington County 4-H members recently placed fourth at the 2020 State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest. The contest in Ames only had a senior division this year due to COVID-19 safety precautions. In total, 38 individuals from nine counties competed. The Washington County team of Carmen Sieren, Charlotte Sieren, Anna Nafziger, and Iris Peterson took fourth place overall. They were just three points behind the third-place team.
Peterson earned sixth place overall in individual points and fourth in meat goat ranking. Charlotte Sieren earned eighth place in swine ranking.
The Washington County 4-H volunteer livestock judging coaching team is made up of Brandon Freel, Dustin Ford, Ted Greiner, and Chad Younge.
