The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team returns home Tuesday to face Wilton for Senior Night. Mid-Prairie is 4-1 on the year, coming off of their first loss of the season Thursday, a setback in straight sets to No. 8 West Liberty. On the year, Mid-Prairie is led by Tori Boyse with 22 kills. Landry Pacha has a team best 67 assists, fourth most in the River Valley Conference while Maddie Edgington leads the Golden Hawk defense with 24 digs.
Wilton comes into the match with an overall record of 14-0. The Beavers rolled through their home tournament over the weekend sweeping matches against Midland, Winfield-Mt. Union, Mount Pleasant, Lisbon and Hillcrest Academy en route to the championship. The Beavers are ranked No. 3 in class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. For the year, Wilton is led by Kelsey Drake with 109 kills, 10th most in class 2A in Iowa. Ella Caffery leads the team and is fifth in 2A with 260 assists. Mallory Lange leads the Beaver defense with 116 digs, second in the River Valley Conference. These two teams met once last year with the Beavers winning in straight sets. Wilton has won five straight matches in the series and 12 of the last 14. The Golden Hawks will honor seven seniors including Karson Jehle, Maddie Edgington, Myah Lugar, Amber Swart, Paige Peiffer, Phelan Hostetler and Tori Boyse. Action begins at 7:15 at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
