The use of fireworks is now banned in the City of Washington. The third and final reading of an ordinance to ban fireworks was approved by the Washington City Council at their meeting Tuesday night. The measure was passed on a vote of 4-1, with Fran Stigers as the lone nay vote. Councilman Steve Gault was absent.
