After a traffic stop in rural Washington County, a Wayland man was arrested on multiple warrants for felony theft and burglary charges. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 4:05 p.m. Friday a deputy stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Kiwi Avenue and 170th Street. The driver was 39-year-old Christian Antonio Moransoto of Wayland.

Four more sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene. Officers arrested Moransoto on warrants for two counts of theft in the second degree, a class D felony; three counts of burglary in the third degree, a class D felony; two counts of theft in the fourth degree, a serious misdemeanor; theft in the fifth degree, a simple misdemeanor; and trespassing first offense.

The charges stem from an incident that happened on January 13th this year when two trailers were broken into and items were missing. He was taken to the Washington County Jail. Bond was set at $27,600.
