Thursday, the annual Southeast Iowa Superconference Volleyball Tournament gets underway for 2020. The Lone Tree Lions have drawn into pool play at Holy Trinity Catholic in West Point. The Lady Lions are the three seed at the event with an overall record of 5-10. They were swept at Cardinal on Tuesday by scores of 25-8, 25-20 and 25-16. For the year, the Lady Lions are led by Kylie Patterson with 52 kills, 10th in the Superconference North. Kayla Dautremont leads the Lions and is seventh in the north with 76 assists. Alyssa Knock paces the Lion defense with 113 digs, ninth in the Superconference North.

Van Buren is the No. 2 seed in the pool. The Warriors are 5-9 on the season. Last time out they swept a triangular in straight sets over Cardinal and Moravia on Monday. For the season, Van Buren is led by Chelsey Huff with 97 kills, fifth most in the Superconference South. Isabel Manning has 168 assists, fifth in the Superconference South and Kadence Nusbaum has a team best 116 digs, eighth in the south.

Holy Trinity Catholic enters as the No. 1 seed in the pool. The Crusaders have an overall record of 12-5. Last time out they went 2-1 at their home tournament Monday, beating Keokuk and Fort Madison before falling to Central Lee. HTC is currently ranked No. 1 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. On the season they are led by Claire Pothitakis with 99 kills, fourth in the Superconference South. Kassi Randolph has 141 assists, best on the team and seventh in the South. Maria Rauenbuehler has 148 digs to lead the Crusader defense, fifth in the South division.

The Lady Lions last met the Crusaders in the 2018 conference tournament where they were swept in straight sets. They last met Van Buren in 2015 where they swept the Warriors. Action begins Thursday night at 5p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic High School in West Point.
