Week Five of the high school football season is tomorrow and Columbus will look to build off of a win last week when they host Wapello for homecoming.
The Wildcats got a big 49-27 road win over Highland last week to move to 2-2 on the season. Will Schwab gets the bulk of the carries in the backfield with 470 rushing yards and six touchdowns in four games. Jeff Hoback has completed 57% of his passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns with two of those completed to Tucker Bright. Bright leads the defense with 22 tackles.
The Indians are 1-2 and were roughed up last week falling to Iowa City Regina 43-16. Tade Parsons likes to air it out completing 29 of 51 passes for 446 yards and five touchdowns with Cade Thomas hauling in four receiving scores. Evan Ross has recorded 18 tackles for a defense that has given up 30 points a night.
The Wildcats look to snap a five game losing skid against the Indians including erasing a 62-0 defeat last fall.
The homecoming contest gets underway at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Columbus Junction.
