Playing a rival on your home turf for homecoming to keep an undefeated season going. No extra incentives are needed for that scenario and that’s exactly what the Washington football team has in store tonight when they welcome Fairfield for homecoming Friday.

The Demons have been taking names in the first four weeks of the season with a 4-0 record including a 41-27 win over Mount Pleasant last week where they were in control the entire way. Homecoming King Trashaun Willis has reigned supreme for the Demon offense with 642 total yards and being responsible for 12 touchdowns. The defense has allowed just 15 points a night and Wyatt Stout leads them with 17 tackles.

Fairfield is a much improved bunch that is 1-3 after bringing back almost their entire team from an 0-9 campaign in 2019. Head Coach James Harris tells KCII Sports they are a year older and that has allowed them to open up the playbook more.

“When we played them last year they were very vanilla in their play calling and was strictly I-formation. This year they have really opened it up and have transitioned into a pro spread system. They are running a lot of jet motions, reverses, and zones. They have improved a lot since last year.”

The Demons have won every meeting since 2012 including a 71-6 drubbing last year.

The chance to stay undefeated gets underway at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Case Field. Listen to all of the play-by-play coverage on FM 106.1 KCII with a one hour long pregame that starts at 6:30 p.m. and the KCII Football Friday Preview Show that analyzes all Southeast Iowa games starting at 5:30 p.m.
