Getting back in the win column is the plan for Lone Tree tonight when the Lion football team welcomes GMG to town for homecoming.

The Lions are 1-2 on the fall and look to erase a 54-26 loss to New London last week. It was a one-possession game heading to the fourth when the Tigers outscored the Lions 26-6 in the final quarter. Cade Shield has been a reliable dual-threat quarterback with 465 yards through the air with 251 yards on the ground and being responsible for nine touchdowns. Alex Viner has been the feature back with 295 rushing yards with four scores and Cade Patterson has 18 receptions for 243 yards. Will Hotz anchors the defense with 28 tackles.

The Wolverines are 0-4 and were shutout 42-0 last week against BGM. Lone Tree will look to be opportunistic with GMG throwing six interceptions to just two touchdowns thus far. Owen Collins has been a bright spot reaching pay dirt seven times on 38 carries for 246 yards. The Wolverine defense gives up 46 points a night and Brayden Anderson leads them with 25 tackles.

This is the first meeting between these two schools in 11 years and the Lions won back-to-back seasons in 2008 and 2009.

The action begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Lone Tree.
