The 2020 Washington Homecoming king and queen were crowned at Case Field Thursday night, one of them virtually. During the Spirit Night festivities, Trina Griffin was named queen and Trashaun Willis is this year’s king. Griffin was unable to attend the festivities in person, but that didn’t mean she was unable to see the event and take part virtually. Willis called Griffin in a video chat and held his phone for the duration of the coronation ceremonies from introductions to being crowned king and queen. He shares what the night was like and helping Griffin be included, “She knew she wouldn’t be able to make it here, so I thought it’d be nice of me to FaceTime her just so she could somewhat experience the same thing that I am.”
The full court includes: Cooper Reed, Roy Carter, Kael Adam, Wyatt Stout, Brynn Beenblossom, Josie Tanner, Kellie Dallmeyer, and Hannah Rees. For photos from Spirit Night visit KCII Radio’s Facebook page.
