Iowa’s drought conditions remained unchanged from last week to this week according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Nearly 23% of Iowa is in severe drought, 47.2% is in moderate drought, and 78.25% of the state is abnormally dry. Most of southeast Iowa is abnormally dry, including all of Washington County.

Cooler temperatures are in the forecast for the KCII listening area. Temperatures are expected to reach highs in the mid-80s today and then drop to highs in the mid-60s by Monday. There’s a chance for showers on Sunday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
