Vine Avenue north of Highway 22 in Washington County will see improvements estimated at over a quarter of a million dollars in the next year. At their weekly meeting, the Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a contract for the project. County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained what will be done, “Actually three box culverts that we’ll be doing some sort of extension on, flattening the fore slopes and addressing some slide issues up there, and backslope. Been working on the project off and on for the last several years, working with the landowners and people up there on what we can do to try to make improvements for everybody and keep the road safe as well.”

There were three bids. The contract was awarded to Iowa Bridge and Culvert for $256,509.72. Farm to Market funds are being used on the project. The contract is under the estimated $264,000.

The project has a late start date of September 2021.
