Four KCII area schools criss-crossed the course at the Iowa City Kickers complex Monday for the Clear Creek Amana Invitational. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls took home the team title with their impressive performance of 20 points. CCA was a distant second with 77 points. Mid-Prairie put four runners in the top five and six in the top ten led by top ranked Danielle Hostetler. The freshman won the title in her first race back after a hip injury with a time of 19:45. Other Golden Hawk finishers included Sydney Yoder second, Mitzi Evans fourth, Abby Fleming fifth, Phoebe Shetler eighth, Annika Poll ninth, Ana Fleming 11th, Amara Jones 14th, Paityn Jennings 69th, and Zebi Kimani 71st.

No other area schools posted a team score in the girls race. Winfield-Mt. Union was led by Avery Maeder in 32nd with a time of 24:58. Bayla Thomson was 63rd and Emma Richardson 64th. Columbus was led by Averi Sipes in 45th with a time of 26:43. Kimberly Gonzalez was 46th, Alexa Alcala 70th, and Julie Sosa 72nd. McKenzie Vradenberg represented WACO in 62nd with a time of 29:10.

In the boys race, Mid-Prairie also had the top area finish, taking second in a tight race with Clear Creek Amana on the Clippers home course by a 39-43 score. The Golden Hawks put four in the top ten led by Jamison Stutzman as individual runner-up in a time of 17:38. Other Mid-Prairie runners included Chandler Hershberger fourth, Nathan Wallington seventh, Lucas Bontrager ninth, Mose Yoder 25th, Daniel Rodgers 38th, Luke Albright 44th, Blake Creed 50th, Robert Nagy 67th, Jordan Stock 69th, Dalton Miller 75th, Sam Yoder 81st, Jacob Donaldson 97th, and Caleb Thomas 99th.

Columbus was fourth in the team standings with 120 points. The Wildcats were led by Isaac Acosta 12th in 18:48. Other Columbus runners included Damian Vergara 24th, Alex Rivas 31st, Freddy Vergara 32nd, Mason Hills-Carrier 34th, Van Bawi 64th, Tyler Humiston 68th, Daniel Martinez 77th, Owen Watson 107th, Josh Almanza 108th, and Justus Lekwa 129th.

Winfield-Mt. Union was 10th in the team standings with their score of 237. The Wolves were led by Dane Sweezer in 23rd with a time of 19:37. Other finishers for WMU included Gabriel Hemsworth 47th, Talon Newton 80th, Jacob Haines 92nd, Anden Gipple 95th, Lane Scorpil 101st, Ty Scorpil 104th, Jack Moody 110th, Jeff Maish 115th, and Gabe White 119th.
