Work is underway at Washington County Hospital and Clinics to improve the facility’s parking lots. Crews started resurfacing portions of the parking lot on Monday. Director of Plant Operations Craig Pettit explains the parking lot project is to improve the facility for patients, “So the parking lot is strictly based on patient safety. We have a lot of trip hazards and stuff that we’re trying to remedy. [It’s an] ongoing maintenance project, probably should’ve been done sooner but now we’re getting it done.”

The work is being done for $198,001.85 by LL Pelling, the only bidder on the project.

The patient and visitor parking lots on the WCHC main campus will be resurfaced over the next three weeks. While work is happening, sections of the parking lots will be closed intermittently, and patients may be directed to park at the South Lobby Entrance in the center of the hospital off of Polk Street. All of the WCHC entrances will remain open with access from the sidewalks.

Look for signage around the entrances and parking lots to direct patients to building entrances and open parking. Staff will be on hand to assist with directions. People who need more information for parking and patient drop-off locations may call the hospital at 653-5481 or the clinics at 653-7291.
