It’s day one of two for the Washington volleyball team at the Southeast Conference tournament, as the Demons make the short trip to Fairfield tonight.
The Demons are 0-5 in the league and 0-13 overall with their last match on Thursday when they were swept by Clear Creek-Amana. Olivia Marek and Kenializ Espinoza led the team with three kills apiece and Remy Messinger dished out five assists. Keira Messinger dug out 11 balls and the team was successful on 90% of their serves.
Burlington comes in as the favorite sitting at 4-0 in the conference and 9-4 overall. Carley McGinity paces the team with 62 kills.
This is the first day of the tournament with the second being next Tuesday in Mount Pleasant. It all gets started at 5 p.m. tonight in Fairfield.
