It’s Homecoming week at Mid-Prairie and the Golden Hawk volleyball team will be on the court when they host Monticello tonight. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Tori Boyse with 41 kills. Landry Pacha has a team best 181 assists, that total is fourth most in the River Valley Conference. Paige Peiffer leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 93 digs.

Monticello enters action with an overall record of 13-8. The Panthers swept North Cedar on the Knights home court last time out. For the season, Monticello is led by Emma Hynick with 106 kills, seventh most in the River Valley North. Tori McDonald has a team best 220 assists, third in the RVC North while Lainey Fellinger leads the Panther defense with 189 digs, third in the RVC North. This week, Mid-Prairie assistant coach Kristi Strickland talked about the keys to Monticello and the week for the Hawks. “We played Monticello at the end of September at a tournament there and gave them a good fight in a match. We’ve had a day under our belt now with a new rotation and lineup and we have kinks worked out so we can start strong.”

Mid-Prairie met the Panthers two weeks ago at their home tournament where Monticello got the win by sweep. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
