The Kalona Chamber of Commerce is celebrating local businesses and encouraging community members to shop locally with a new event called Kalonacade. It’ll be held on October 17. This event is a parade that will feature and celebrate local businesses with floats and chances for community members to win coupons to use at area businesses during the holiday season. The parade will begin at the Kalona Sale Barn and end at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Parking Lot. Floats will line up at 4:30 p.m. and begin the parade at 5 p.m. 

Businesses can contact the Kalona Chamber of Commerce to enter a float or donate a coupon for the social media contest. Nothing can be thrown from participating vehicles in the parade and social distancing and face coverings are encouraged. Follow this story at kciiradio.com for a map of the parade route.
