For the third straight season, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls brought home the River Valley Conference team cross country title. The Hawks were the best of 14 teams at Monticello on Tuesday. Mid-Prairie won conference with a sparkling score of 24, Tipton was second with 74 points. The Golden Hawks did it by putting four runners in the top five including taking the top three spots. Danielle Hostetler was the individual RVC champion with her time of 18:44. Sydney Yoder was conference runner-up and Jaden Yoder third. Mitzi Evans placed fifth for Mid-Prairie. Other Golden Hawk runners included Abby Fleming 14th, Ana Fleming 16th, Phoebe Shetler 19th, Annika Poll 21st, Amara Jones 24th, and Grace Conway 50th. The top nine Golden Hawks were named all-conference.
The Golden Hawk boys were third with their score of 89 points. Monticello won the team conference championship with 55 points. Jamison Stutzman led Mid-Prairie, finishing in third place with a time of 16:34. Other Golden Hawk runners included Nathan Wallington 14th, Lucas Bontrager 15th, Chandler Hershberger 22nd, Mose Yoder 36th, Daniel Rodgers 58th, Sam Yoder 71st, Jordan Stock 78th, Blake Creed 80th, and Luke Albright 87th. The top four Golden Hawks were named all-conference. The Golden Hawks will next be in action at their state qualifier meet October 22nd.
