Big Hollow Recreation Area will be a busy place on Thursday when the Mediapolis Bulldogs and Bullettes host a cross country meet that will serve as the finale for the 2020 regular season. Traveling to Mediapolis tonight from the KCII listening area will be Hillcrest Academy, Columbus, Highland, Lone Tree and WACO.

Hillcrest Academy was last in action a week ago at the Southeast Iowa Superconference Championship meet at Van Buren. The Ravens did not post a boys or girls team score. They were led by Leah Bontrager in eighth with a time of 21:29. For the Hillcrest boys it was Will Kolck in 41st with a time of 20:20.

The Columbus Wildcats last ran at the Mike Jay Invitational at home on Tuesday. The Columbus boys were meet champions with their score of 45 points. Isaac Acosta led the Wildcat boys taking fifth in 18:42. Averi Sipes was 14th in 26:05.

Highland was seventh on the boys side at the Mike Jay Invite, led by Ethan Paisley in 25th at 20:46. Taylor Sublette was third overall for the Highland girls in 23:52.

For the Lone Tree Lions it was Cale Christofferson on the boys side leading the way in 52nd with a time of 20:53 at the Superconference meet in Van Buren.

The WACO Warriors at Columbus were led by Wyatt Dennis in 38th with a time of 22:04. The WACO girls had McKenzie Vradenberg take 15th in 26:35. Action starts at 5p.m. tonight at Big Hollow Recreation Area.
