The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team begins the tournament trail tonight when they travel to Williamsburg for the opening round of class 3A regionals. The Hawks come in with a 9-15 overall record, they finished 3-6 in the River Valley Conference. Last time out, the Golden Hawks won a pair of matches in the RVC tournament over Tipton and North Cedar in Wellman. The Hawks are led on the season by Tori Boyse with 67 kills. Landry Pacha has 253 assists, fourth most in the RVC south. Amber Swart leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 171 digs.

Williamsburg enters play with an overall record of 18-15. The Raiders were 4-2 in the WAMAC West this season. In their last action, they swept three matches in the WAMAC Tournament, scoring wins over Vinton-Shellsburg, Benton and Center Point-Urbana. On the season the Raiders are led by Jessie Julius with 320 kills, fifth most in 3A. Gracie Ehret has 567 assists, second most in the WAMAC while Erin Francis leads the Raider defense with 323 digs, third in the WAMAC. These two teams last met in 2016 with the Raiders sweeping the Golden Hawks. Williamsburg has won seven straight in the series. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Williamsburg High School.
