The Highland Community School District will be the host of a walk-in flu shot clinic on Tuesday. It will be at the high school building. The Centers for Disease Control recommend individuals get their flu shots by the end of October. It takes about two weeks after you get your flu shot for your body to build up the antibodies to protect against influenza. No appointments are necessary to receive a flu vaccine. Individuals can fill out an online consent form or fill one out at the high school. Insurance cards should be brought to this event. Costs for those without an insurance card are $29 for individuals under 65 years of age, and $74 for individuals 65-years-old and older. The clinic will be accepting patients from 5-7 p.m.
