The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country teams stayed put in the most recent edition of class 2A rankings from the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association. The Golden Hawk girls are No. 1 again this week after claiming the River Valley Conference championship at Monticello. The Golden Hawks have been in the top spot in seven of the eight polls released this season. Mid-Prairie has five runners in their lineup ranked in the top 30 in the state, including the top three. Danielle Hostetler is ranked No. 1 in the state after claiming the individual RVC championship last week. The freshman has been in the top spot in seven of eight polls this season. Jaden Yoder is ranked second, Sydney Yoder third, Mitzi Evans 11th and Abby Fleming 26th.
The Mid-Prairie boys remain at No. 5 in class 2A this week. The Golden Hawks were third place finishers at the RVC championships in Monticello a week ago. Mid-Prairie has a pair of ranked runners in their lineup with Thaddeus Shetler at No. 10 and Jamison Stutzman 15th. Stutzman finished third at the River Valley meet last week. The Golden Hawks will next be on the course Thursday at the state qualifier meet in Williamsburg.
