Residents in Henry County are encouraged to dispose of their unused prescription drug medications safely during the Henry County Sheriff’s Office drug take back event on Saturday. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has designated October 24 as National Prescription Drug Take Back day to give community members a way to properly and safely dispose of prescription drug medications. Multiple agencies across Henry County will serve as disposal locations, including: the New London Police Department, Winfield Police Department, Mount Pleasant Police Department, Wayland Fire Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and Salem City Hall Fire Station. These locations will be accepting medications from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
