Runners from the KCII-listening area have punched their tickets to the state race. Washington’s Lance Sobaski will be running next Friday in Fort Dodge in the Class 3A meet. He qualified in Monticello where he placed second on Wednesday.

In Class 2A the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks girls’ cross country team looks to defend their state title. The team has qualified for state and is led by Danielle Hoschtetler. The Mid-Prairie boys’ cross country team also qualified to compete as a team.

The Columbus Community boys’ cross country team qualified for the Class 1A race. Local Class 1A individual qualifiers include Hillcrest Academy’s Leah Bontrager and Sigourney’s Mason Moore. The Class 2A and Class 1A races will be held in Fort Dodge on Halloween. Listen to KCII Sports for all the details.
