Administrators at the Goodwin Senior Center in Wellman are facing a tough decision and have enlisted the help of the Wellman City Council. During October meetings, the group approached council about the idea of re-opening their facility. They have been closed since spring due to concerns related to COVID-19. During discussion between council and representatives of the facility it was determined that council was comfortable with the facility re-opening if both employees and patrons felt that safety protocols would be followed. A final decision will be made by the center’s commission at a future meeting. The facility serves as a gathering place for area seniors and offers on-site meal services.
