At their most recent meeting, the Kalona city council accepted a bid and took the next step forward on a large road project. The council accepted a bid of $157,829.65 from L.L. Pelling for the 5th Street road project. This is for construction work, including milling and asphalt resurfacing to be done on the segment of 5th Street between E Avenue and J Avenue. The project could start as soon as this fall in hopes of finishing before winter weather takes hold in the area.
